Alejandro is from Subanen community of Zamboanga Del Norte. He has been doing his art woks since he was in high school. His favorite artists were Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Mauro Malang Santos, and Juan Luna. His wish is to continue his work because he believes that painting is his calling.

Alex Anding
Alex is from Subanen community in Zamboanga del Norte. He is one of the leaders of his community. He was influenced by his father and mother in creating art. He is now 49 years old, but he started when he was in 40 year old. Palaput, Langka, Lis mabana, Lusay, Mangabay Tree, Gubot, Tubo and Banana root are the one's he gathered when doing pangasi or wine.

Allan is a Cebuano, and has been doing his artworks for about 20 years now. He got his motivation only by himself. He uses oil and textile as his medium. He wants to be a famous artist someday, and to encourage the young artist of the generation of today to preserve the culture.

Alma Salayan
Alma K. Salayan is a 12 year old girl from the T’boli community of Falel, Tamandang, Kiamba, Sarangani province. In last year’s Kalinawa event she participated as a kalakat weaver. She made a demonstration on the spot on weaving thin bamboo slats to make Kalakat are used for walling. Depending upon the need kalakat could be the size of a ply board, thus, it is amazing that a girl her age and complicated piece. Kalakat weaving is one of the means of income for her family. At the 3rd Annual Indigenous Peoles’ Visual Art Exhibit in General Santos City, she entered three artworks of paintings in acrylic on canvas – this was after she joined a worshop on painting by Ronald Tamfalan for the T’boli community of Falel, Kiamba, and Sarangani Province. Ronald attests that Alma is a very good student, she is a quick to absorb instruction and that she has a future in art.

Arnel is a 32 year old Muslim (Kalagan) and has been doing his artworks for the past 20 years. At first he was only doing his art as an hobby or collection, then decided to do more. He dreams of having his own solo exhibit.

Alynnah Macla
15 year old Allyna is from Kalagan community in Panabo City, she can speak English, Tagalog, and Kalagan. She has been practicing art for years now, and she was motivated by her friends and family. She always joins in exhibits and contests. Latex paint, acrylic, mixed media and water color and paste are her medium in art, while pointillism as her style. She also into oil painting and soil painting. One of her masterpiece she named "Lola" this artwork reminds her of the grandmother who unable to do things because of aging, but also reflect on what she is able to do when she was still young. She is also in need for some art material, to continue her work, and she wants to be a professional artist someday. She recently won in first prize in youth category in 3rd Annual Competion and Exhibition in Davao and jury selection on the recent competion in Tagum City.

Amerjan B. Aguilar
Amerjan is a 16 year old male student of Barangay Marang, General Santos City. He speaks Bisaya, Tagalog and English. He began drawing and making posters when he was in grade six. He says drawing and poster making is really his interest. He joins contests in these categories. He is inspired to do more artwork everytime he sees other peoples works. One of his preferences as to style is editorial cartooning wherein a lot of his ideas really come out. In doing his pieces, he uses crayons, oil pastel and pencil. He still wants to improve his skills and have his own masterpiece.

Amparo Mabanag
Amparo is a 57 year old female Gad'dang of Mountain Province. She speaks Gad'dang, Ilongo, Kalinga and Tagalog. She's been doing her art work for about 25 years now. As she was growing up she watched her mother sew and embroider traditional dresses - this is how she learned the art. Doing art of sewing and embroidery is their way of preserving their culture. She is now a trainor in the School Living Tradition in their community . She uses cotton cloth or any cloth for making blouses on an ordinary sewing machine. She uses cotton threads and bees wax. Beas wax makes the thread easy to weave. She knows how to dance, weave and play some musical instruments.

Twenty year old Amy is a T’boli from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. She likes to show the world how artistic indigenous people are. She also wants to continue doing this art and teach the young ones in their community to preserve their culture.

Amzekel is from the T'boli community in Saranganni province. He can speak Bisaya, Tagalog and T'boli. He is into brass casting. He inherited his talent to his ancestor. He also does beads and traditional clothes made of T’nalak.

Ana Matango
Ms. Ana a 47 year old who began her work as a weaver at the age of 7 as a result of the influence of her parents. She feels that her work is an important contribution to ensure that the cultures and traditions cannot be lost. In addition to weaving, she is accomplished in beadwork and embroidery. It is her goal to ensure that children can be trained in these arts, so that it will not be lost in the future.

Angelie M. Moroscallo
Angelie is from Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte. She can speak Tagalog, English and Visayan. She has been doing her artworks since grade school and she wan influenced by her Father. She is using Pastel, watercolor and crayons. She wants to learn and practice more painting to develop her skills.

Angelo Mendaros Chu
Mr. Angelo Chu has been doing art since childhood. He translates into art everything that he visualizes and sees. He uses oil, watercolor and indigenous materials for assemblage. According to him he still researches on indigenous colors. He wishes to help uplift art in the school curriculum in the schools of his community. He is not an Indigenous person, however, he is married to a Mandaya, who works for the National Commission for Indigenous Peoples. His being married to a Mandaya encouraged him to collect ethnic designs and artifacts.

Antonio Altheo Talon
Antonio is twenty two years old and has been an artist since grade 1 ,according to him it is his inborn talent. He belongs to the B'laan of General Santos, he speaks B'laan, Cebuano, and Tagalog. Preferred media are charcoal, crayons , enamel paint and pencil. He wants to share his talent to young artist. Being an Indigenous person is not a problem to him to reach his goal to become a good and famous artist someday. He usually show the life and culture of B'laans through his paintings.

Antonio B. Cayyog
Antonio is from the Ga'dang tribe of Paraceles, Mountain Province. He speaks Ga'dang, Ilocano, Kalinga , Balangaw, Tagalog and English. At 61 years old, he is an Indigenous Peoples leader who works with other cultural workers in the preservation of the Ga'dang culture. He helped establish the School for Living Tradition in Paraceles, Mountain Province. He also heads an organization called the GoldLink which stands for Ga'dang Organic Development Link which works with activities for the preservation of the Ga'dang culture and arts. He makes and plays musical instruments out of bamboo. He was encouraged to make these instruments when as a young boy he would see them played at social gatherings in their community and he was taught by his father how to make them and how to play them.
